Helifix has re-launched its website to make it fully accessible to the fast growing number of visitors accessing the site via a smartphone or tablet device.
Helifix is pleased to announce that it is now part of Ancon Building Products, a member of CRH plc group of companies.
The Helifix Group, with operations in New Zealand, Australia, the USA and Europe, strengthens Ancon’s position in these key territories, while for Helifix this change of ownership will allow local entrepreneurship to benefit from large company resources.
The existing Helifix management remains in place and, despite talk of exciting future plans, company founder and Managing Director Bob Paterson confirms the current focus is unchanged.
“Our customers can be assured that it is ‘business as usual’. The immediate priority for the Helifix team is to continue to provide the high quality products, technical support and excellent customer service that the market has come to expect from us”.
Results from an independent report into the performance of Helifix ties installed as part of seismic strengthening projects in Christchurch can be found below.
Based on visits to four case study sites around Christchurch following the 2010 Darfield earthquake, the 2011 February earthquake and the June 2011 aftershock, the report concludes:(1) the DryFix system is “effective in improving the out-of-plane performance” of the external masonry veneer in cavity brick construction; and(2) HeliBar and HeliBond used together are “effective in repairing in-plane cracks and corner cracks in earthquake damaged unreinforced masonry buildings.”
Thank you to all who visited the Helifix stand at the recent Wellington Rocks – Earthquake Building Safety Expo.
The exhibition was held at the Wellington Town Hall over two days, April 26-27 2013, and was hosted by Wellington City Council. It attracted the interest of property owners, managers and landlords, as well as engineers, builders, architects, valuers and other professionals. Around two hundred people visited the Helifix stand over the course of the event to learn more about our masonry ties and fixings and trial our DryFix remedial wall tie system.
